I was very lucky to obtain a ticket to the 'Jetset Masala' show on Sunday 22nd. The Wednesday before I received a beautiful plane ticket shaped invitation in the post (will post pics). I was very nervous as this was my first fashion show. Like a geek I showed up early.
It was unseasonably warm but I decided to wear my beautiful coat and skirt from AW04 because they are absolutely magical and very classic Eley Kishimoto pieces:
I paired the red coat above, with the blue skirt below:
After the show, which was quirky and wonderful (I even saw Diane Pernet who looks just as amazing in person as she does on her blog) I walked to the V&A to grab a snack. I lingered in the gift shop for a bit then walked back towards the BFC tent to use the subway on that side. As I was waiting to cross the road who should I see but Mark Eley himself!!!! He came up to me and commented on my coat. He told me that there were only about 20 in the world and that Catharine Deneuve had one. I babbled something about how great the show was and how thankful I was to receive a ticket. I shook his hand and babbled something about how I treasure my coat. I think after that he hopped into a taxi with the armful of clothes that he was carrying but I can't be sure as I was still recovering from the shock.
I would just like to state for the record that he must be one of the nicest people in the fashion industry and I don't mean bullshit PR nice. I haven't met Wakako but I'm sure she is just as lovely.
A magical day in my magical coat.
The next day I bought the Eastpak One bag in the blue flash print. It was like a designer Kinder Surprise egg:

Ah, lovely post! I got the black/white bag. V handy for schlepping the laptop around fashion week...
The coat and the skirt are beautiful pieces and more lovely in person. I saw them in January when you came to visit your family in Canada!
Love your blog!
