The Layering of Colour and Light

From Chelsea College of Art to New York where she is now designing fabrics for Philip Lim, Ashley Boer takes her inspiration form Sofia Coppola -which I believe,since the first thing that popped into my head when I saw these pics on Jotta was 'hmmm... this reminds of a Sofia Coppola film for some reason'.

Her work at first is seemingly innocent and evocative of a simpler time (the delicate colours, the femine detailing the almost-retro cut) but potent dark undertones run throughout.
