Orange Dream
The weekend before last I did a seven outfit 'photoshoot' for an upcoming style website (details to follow when site launches!). My husband helped me take the pics and they were mostly done in my backyard, room and a few spots around my neighbourhood. I noticed that since the pics are full length the makeup isn't that obvious so I took a few close ups to post here.
Here is the first series more to follow:

There is more to life than lip gloss and I should know but still...
At the risk of presenting myself as being completely vapid I will reveal here for the first time my secret lip gloss addiction. The truth is there aren't enough days in a year to actually use them all and I am scared to count my collection.
Luckily for me lip gloss and lip balm don't appear to 'go off' so my lifetime supply is safe.
What is it about lip gloss and lip balms anyway? Well I have concluded that they are a multisensory experience and that this combined with their compactness and affordability is what lies behind their mass appeal.
The scent, the flavour, the packaging, the texture on your lips the aesthetic (if they are tinted, glittery etc.)
Without embarrassing myself further by posting photos of my collection here are some of my top picks:
Jelly Pong Pong, Lip Cushion, have never tried this one but have been lusting after it for years. I love the simple glass pot, the tints and the jelly texture.
Rimmel, shock gloss. Here's one I regularly stock up on. In fact there is always a tube in my purse. It comes in five shades that I woud like to experiment with but I always find myself buying 'Magnificent' (a very sheer pink). What I love about this product is the texture, it provides the 3D 'wet look' without making your lips feel too sticky and it smells like grenadine syrup. In all honesty I prefer it too MAC's Lipglass (sorry MAC).
Carmex, Now available in retro 1937 packaging as seen above. When I was an 11 year old Carmex came in a less attractive jar and was not available in the cherry and strawberry varieties that you can buy today but we still loved it. Sure it's smelly and less than glamorous but it does what it says on the tin. Pain from chapped lips is relieved instantly and lips are visibly healed within 24hrs. It's gotten me through many a Canadian winter and I absolutely swear by it!
Eyeko, Fat Balm. It's cheap, Kawaii and has multiple uses. Great as a lip stain, worn alone or under clear gloss and great on cheeks too. My favourite is Raspberry.
Perfumeria Gal, Hard to find but worth the hunt. The balm featured above is my personal fav. Flavour is a cross between bubblegum and cotton
Crazy Rumours, Brew in 'Orange Bergamot'. Proof that lip balms and glosses have aromatherapeutic qualities. This smells EXACTLY like Lady Grey tea and got me through a rough time. Just sniffing it's delicate bergamot citrus scent will calm nerves and it leaves lips feeling silky.
