Q & A : Industry Insights
I’m a fashion blogger. I use the blog as a platform for my photography and hopefully one day I will gain more skills in that field.
2. How did you get involved in fashion?
I lived in London for six years and it’s a fashion capital so I was just really inspired each day to write and photograph the fashion around me.
3. Describe your personal style.
It’s very eclectic but I wear a lot of bright colours, prints (Eley Kishimoto being a favourite) and statement jewellery. Usually you will find me in flats or high tops but I do love a good wedge platform too.
4. Favourites:
Shoe Designer?
Pierre Hardy. I think he often gets overlooked in favour of Christian Louboutin which is a mistake in my opinion.
Coffee Shop
Monmouth Coffee, (Borough Market London, England). It’s simply the best coffee I have ever had.
Movie?
The Royal Tenenbaums
Book?
Persepolis
Day of the week
Wednesday. I like things that are half-way it gives you the weekend to look forward to.
Guilty Pleasure?
The Jewellery section of Walmart. It’s embarrassing but people always comment on my Walmart Jewellery finds so I must be doing something right!
5. Why do you love your job? Any ‘pet-peeves’ in the fashion industry?
Fashion bloggers who sit in the front row taking photos with their camera phones. If you’re lucky enough to sit in the front row and you’re taking photos for your blog then you should really consider investing in a decent camera.
6. What inspires you/Who inspires you?
Iconic women who defy conventional beauty norms, like Tilda Swinton.
7. If you could give our readers your top personal fashion tip-what would it be?
If you genuinely like something never ask your friend/boyfriend/relative if they like it too. You should dress to please yourself.
8. What draws you to Pink Martini Collection as a label?
It’s casual and quirky. I love the use of colour and print.
9. If you could pick one outfit from Pink Martini Collection to compliment your wardrobe, what would it be?
I would pair the Architect blazer with the Seashell dress.
