Lucian Matis always surprises with his collections whilst at the same time maintaining a unique and instantly recognisable signature. I loved the SS12 collection, the contrast of looks -Atlantian-warrior babe meets prom princess and a bouquet of flowers. Who needs studs when you have the metallic embellishments on those flesh coloured bodysuits? Derivative and somehow wholly original too. I think Lucian Matis is one of our most important designers and totally underrated. The originality of each piece and the wide-range of technical skills employed is truly dazzling.
